How to Rebrand on Socials
Truth be told, sometimes you no longer vibe with your brand! One of the best parts of being a business owner, is you get to change whatever you want - including rebranding yourself when you need a refresh when re-structuring is needed, or you aren't connecting and appealing to the right audience. Social media is ALWAYS changing and adapting, so we need to from time to time. Rebranding can be a big step to take, but don't worry we are here for much support and excitement for your new brand feel! Check out these steps and tips to help you through the process -
1.) Make sure it's 100% what's best for your brand.
We don't want to scare you out of rebranding; however, just keep in mind that rebranding isn't as easy as changing a few posts to a new color. Rebranding is a challenging process! It does take time, thought, and research to ensure that it will be worth the investment of your time and to know that it's right for your brand.
2.) Research.
With your rebrand, you might be changing your colors, logo, or handle - make sure to take the time to research if you're new ideas are already being used by someone else! A competitor analysis can be helpful here to see if your new branding would stick out in the crowd.
3.) Strategize! Ha - you knew I had to go there! Always start with a strategy and plan, even if basically have to throw out your old strategy and start over, at least you have one that will get you on the right track with these new changes. Know how these new changes will be worked into your content and how they will impact it.
4.) Relaunch! Rebrands can sometimes be a bit confusing to your audience, so you have to take measures to make sure they know it's you and still feels comfortable. Planning a relaunch can be helpful to reintroduce your brand and new feel to your audience and eliminate that confusion! You can even use this as an opportunity to build suspense and further engage with your audience through sneak peeks, giveaways, contests, and more!
4.) Update your branding guidelines. This step is mostly to make the process easier on yourself! The last thing you want to do is create more work for you or even confuse yourself between fonts, colors, etc. Take the time to create new templates for your socials, change your Canva brand kit, and change the brand colors you have in your current content creation system.
4.) Update your profile photo, cover photo, bio, and highlights. This is the best place to start because it sets the tone for your whole page! So, be sure to update and optimize the basics first.
5.) Start posting!
Additional tips -
Don't delete your old content! If you're anything like me, the colors and feel being different on your page will drive you up a wall; however, this content is still quality content. This is where you be able to compare analytics, see past engagement, and continue relationships.
Make sure your rebrand isn't too different. The last thing you want is for your brand to be totally unrecognizable by your audience. You worked hard to establish trust with your audience, so you don't want to break all that down by them not being able to tell it's you.
Fall in love with it! If you are not 100% in love with your rebrand, keep trying to make it better until you are satisfied with it. After all, you don't want to be starting all over again in 6-months because you settled on something you didn't completely love!
Go into it with confidence! If you love it and went through all the work and investment, own it!
