How to Build Your Buyer Persona

The idea of Buyer Persona (aka customer persona, target customer persona, or marketing persona) is used all over the Marketing world. Not only do personas allow us to get into the mindset of our target audience and consumers, but they also are extremely helpful for us to continue to learn about them.

Buyer Personas are a "description of someone who represents your target audience." They (1) act as a guide to help you market your product and create consistency, (2) and create content and messaging specifically geared toward your customer persona.

Buyer Personas are an essential part of your social media content strategy. Not only is it important to learn and include your basic buyer demographics, but it's helpful to go a step further with buyer personas to make sure you're really seeing them as a person.

The first step is knowing where to find the information about your buyers. You can search for this information using -

  • Social media data

  • Social listening

  • Analyze competitor's audiences

  • Market research

  • Internal team members

When we start building our buyer persona, social media analytics are so helpful! Answer these questions and your buyer persona will be built in no time.
