How We Would Market for a Realtor Client

Just because the housing market is a bit all over the place doesn't mean that you're marketing has to be! If you are a realtor DIY-ing your own marketing, or a marketer with a realtor client...this is for you.

We, and the rest of your audience, are sick of the same old, same old graphic about what's new on the market. We want to see more creative campaigns from the real estate industry. There are so many agents, even in the smallest of towns, so how are you marketing yourself to stand out from all the other real estate firms available?

Today, we are going over exactly how we would market for a real estate agent. Consider this a strategy session with us, except this is 100% FREE! Let's dive in.

Content

Location, location, location! SO much of real estate comes with tapping into your location, aka your community. With social media content, we would not only focus on incorporating local keywords, hashtags, and location tags, but we would go further with community-focused content and engagement. We are thinking anything from community highlights (i.e. your agent walking around their favorite spots around town and talking about what it means to them), to collaborations with other small businesses (what about an interview series where you go to your favorite local shops, restaurants, etc. and talk to their owners about their space or even your favorite dish, product, etc). Go beyond that with engagement, find the right community through engagement. Follow and interact with other local pages, businesses, and community members to build connections.

Email List

Your email list = a gold mine. Actually, a properly segmented list = a gold mine. There are platforms out there that help you by sending targeted alerts, your customers just have to sign up, and we would highly recommend using them! However, if you also want to create a list aside from this of all current, past, and potential buyers or sellers, this could be beneficial, too. Get creative with your opt-ins and get even more creative creating separately segmented email funnels for your different segments.

Referrals

We don't have to explain it to you experts, referrals and word of mouth are everything in this industry. Of course, it can help to have some encouragement, too! Send anyone who recommends you a handwritten thank you card or a gift card to a coffee shop local to you, as an extra bonus to continue your relationship with them and encourage more referrals!

Local Events

Farmer's markets, holiday events, Chamber of Commerce events, conferences — host, be a vendor, volunteer, or even just make an appearance! You never know where relationships and conversations will strike, and good connections can be made.

And there you have it — actionable, creative ways to take your real estate marketing from blah to bold! Whether you're collaborating with local businesses, growing your email list, or simply showing up at community events, every effort adds up to building trust and new connections. Everyone knows someone who is looking for a new home or thinking of selling, and it's up to you to be there when they are ready!
