How We Grew Our Facebook Group to 18K
Did you hear that? 👂 That's the sound of your Facebook Group skyrocketing after implementing these tips...
A Facebook group can be a game-changer for expanding your network, building communities, fostering engagement, and gaining brand awareness. We are such fans, we even have our own Facebook Group that we are obsessed with that just hit 18,000 members!
In this blog post, we will explore effective strategies and practical tips that we implemented in our own Facebook group, to help you grow a thriving Facebook group of your own!
Start with a Purpose
WHO, WHAT, WHY? Who's it for? What's the purpose? Why do you want to start a Facebook Group? Just like anything in life, come in with intentionality! Moreso, frequently refer back to this as you go throughout your Facebook group journey! Our purpose was to connect social media managers and create a space for them to ask questions and grow. We use this mission with every single we consider features, content pieces, group rules, and the list could go on!
Optimized bio & name
Just like Instagram, we need our Facebook group to be searchable and findable to all potential members. Take your purpose and turn that into a mission and utilize keywords that you can include in your bio, and include keywords right in the group name, too! Let's take our group as an example, we put "Social Savvy Collective | A Community for Social Media Managers" right as our group name, so when they search "social media manager," we are right there!
Admin involvement
To foster a thriving community, active engagement, and valuable content are vital. Regularly post engaging discussions, questions, polls, or thought-provoking articles that encourage participation. Respond to comments, acknowledge members' contributions, and create a friendly and inclusive environment. Share relevant resources, tips, and insights to establish your group as a valuable source of information!
Start the conversation and keep it going
Going hand and hand with our last point, as the admin, you have to be the cheerleader, conversation starter, and even your own hype-girl from time to time. Jump in there and don't be afraid to take the lead until members feel comfortable enough to do it themselves.
Cross-promotion
You better believe we brag about our Facebook Group on every single platform we have. Cross-promotion can be helpful to pull in new members from your other platform audience, especially if they aren't a demographic that regularly uses Facebook feeds.
Exclusivity
A classic marketing tactic is PERFECT with a Facebook Group. This is your chance to create a space that's unique and beneficial to your audience, so they want to join, be engaged, and continue to connect with you outside of the group (we are talking sales ladies & gentlemen!!!) Organize exclusive events, host webinars, live Q&A sessions, exclusive discounts, freebies, or early access to new products/services as a reward for active group members. This will encourage engagement and make people want to join and help you convert and funnel them into your offers, too!
We can't wait for your Facebook Group to thrive and become an influential hub within your niche!
