Develop a business plan

To succeed as a social media management agency owner, you'll need a solid business plan. You might have already completed outline your goals, target market, marketing and sales strategies, and financial projections, when you started, but even if you didn't - do that now. Just like we strategize our socials, we need to strategize our business, too! Think about what your income goals are, how many clients you need, how many employees you need, expenses, and put a timeline on it. Better your Processes & Systems

How can you expand or adapt your current processes and systems to fit your growth? Your time will be even more limited and valuable, so make sure you take the time to think about these aspects before jumping into the situation. If you are hoping to integrate a team, how will that change the processes? How can you become more efficient while you continue to grow?

Hire a team

As your agency grows, you'll likely need to hire additional team members to help manage client accounts and deliver results. Here are our hiring tips:

  • Clearly define job roles and responsibilities before starting your candidate search. What does the ideal person look like for this role? Define them!

  • Look for the right skills and experience that will compliment yours.

  • Conduct thorough interviews. Be intentional about your interviewing process to find the best potential fit.

  • Don't skip the reference-checking process!

  • Create an onboarding process for new hires, too. Just like your onboarding process for clients, create a positive onboarding experience for your team. Remember, this is the first impression they have of how you organize projects, we want it to be a good one!

  • Take the time to train & develop them. So many employers get frustrated when employees don't meet their standards, but are they taking the time to define those standards and what they look like in this role specifically? Probs not!

Growing to agency-level is a challenging, but it's such a rewarding experience to reach your dream of being an agency owner!
