Case Study: How We Turned a 7-Second Reel Into 776 Leads for Our Client

With an upcoming launch for our client, we strategized a 7-second Reel into 776 leads. Yes, you read that right! We got 776 leads for this social media management client all through ONE organic post, and ZERO dollars spent.

In this case study we are analyzing the key elements that went into this success - breaking down the growth, the results, plus the strategy that's all behind it. Let's dive into how we transformed this client's email list!

The Situation

In preparation for an upcoming program launch, we wanted to build the email list NOW to nurture those people before the program opens. We have a few opt-ins that do well, but getting people to go "click the link in bio" is a small feat. So, we wanted to focus on how we can make the process easy for them and provide value at the same time. We teamed up a Reel with our strategy, plus a lead magnet and marketing automation tool to create a powerful email list opt-in.

The Strategy

Although the Reel was short, we wanted to ensure that every element was intentional. This is why we included an attention-grabbing hook, industry keywords, a strong call-to-action, utilized a popular (*But not oversaturated*) audio, took a humor-based approach, focused on the client's pain points, and added value through the lead magnet. By focusing on the pain points, we were able to connect with the right audience and establish the need for our lead magnet, driving up the interest.

Paired with this, we used ManyChat, the marketing automation tool. This is where the 'making it easy' step of the process comes in. Choosing a simplistic way for your audience to get involved is KEY! ManyChat allows you to automate your lead generation process by setting up a funnel from a keyword comment, directly to sending a link in the DMs. This is a seamless way to funnel your audience into different offers, leads, and resources, but we love it especially because it sends it over instantly, while it's still fresh on their mind. In this particlar Reel, our call-to-action was to comment the word, "SCRIPT" and we'd send over the link to our lead magnet. So, instead of making the audience go through the extra step of visiting the profile, finding the correct link, and then getting the opt-in, they are able to quickly comment and then they'll get the link sent to them right away.

The Results

This generated 10k+ reach, and received over 12k total views between Instagram and Facebook, and of course, the 776 comments that funneled into leads. Because of this topic choice and intentionally, we were able to get the increase in email subscribers, but also ensure that they were our correct audience that matched with who we are targeting. The Success

As mentioned, the main goal is to increase the amount of email list subscribers to prepare for an upcoming program launch. By leveraging a solid call-to-action, and utilizing ManyChat's analytics tracking, we were successful in doing that even more so than if we used a generic "link in bio" call-to-action in the reel. We felt confident with these results because we hit our target social media KPIs, but that it also helped connect our additional marketing channels together through an effective our funnel. This shows that with the right strategy behind it, Reels can be an important tool for moving your audience passed the awareness customer stage and into the nurturing stage, without even being directly sales-focused.
