Why We Switched from ClickUp to Asana

We have some news...

We've been ClickUp fans for a while now; however, we recently made the switch back to Asana for our project management system. We all know that pivots in business are essential, and this has been a large one for us here at Social Savvy. Read more about why we made the switch below!

Why We Switched to Asana

1.) Level of Complexity & User-Friendliness

Not only does a project management tool have to work for our Social Savvy Team, but also our clients. Our whole world revolves around our project management system, including our client's management, content, and approval process. This means, our clients are in your project management tool, just like we are. We found that we kept running into roadblocks when it came to easily using it. ClickUp isn't known for being a "one-push-of-a-button" type platform, of course! It's designed to be advanced and detailed. But, when it comes to getting content approved, we wanted to simplify the process.

2.) Increase Productivity

I'm sure you've heard the quote in reference to we are only as great as our tools, right? We all know that tools are supposed to increase our productivity and efficiency and if they aren't doing this, it can create large problems. Time is money! We want to be sure we remain productive and have the right toolkit that helps us reach our productivity goals. So, when we noticed we were spending more time on setting up tasks, projects, and overall maintenance, we had to make sure to address this. Since Asana is something we are a little more used to and a lot less complex, we found that we spend less time on setting up and maintaining the tool itself, and more time on productive tasks.

3.) Better Reporting & Management

As a business owner, it's so important to be able to keep track of your team's tasks, as well as your own. It's essential to stay up-to-date on all things, including what's on everyone's plate. With Asana's "Workload" feature, the admin can check the workload of team members and ensure that's a balance between tasks. In addition, it also has reporting features that help keep track of projects, set goals, and even create analytics dashboards. We found that this aligned so well with our team!

So, ClickUp vs Asana, which one should YOU choose? Do the free trials, write down your five must-haves, and go from there! The best part about all the tool options there are for small businesses is that they are designed around different personalities so you can find one that speaks to you specifically.

As you go through your business journey, you'll definitely find that you'll outgrow some tools, prefer others, and need to make switches. Don't get caught in your comfort zone when it comes to your toolkit because we need to constantly be bettering our business and its tools!

In conclusion, life is too short to not be completely obsessed with the tools you're using for your business. Find the right tool that works for you 👏
