What is Lemon8?

Lemon8 is a new social media platform that was launched in 2020 in Japan, by none other than TikTok's parent company, ByteDance. It has recently launched in the UK & US, leading to fast-paced growth over the past few weeks!

How is Lemon8's set up?

In our opinion, Lemon8 is similar to combining Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and Reddit. With a feed filled with static, aesthetic images for users to scroll through, with a focus on long-form, blog-like captions this app is sure to pull you in! Since it has the same parent company as TikTok, you'll find that the app is set up in a similar way, too, with a "following" and "for you page" toggle between feeds.

What type of content do you post on Lemon8?

As we mentioned, static photos are definitely the main character! However, there are also carousel-like posts, video content, and graphics that are making an appearance on the app, too. It's heavily focused on long-form captions above with how-tos and tutorials being popular. You'll find a variety of content on the app, but think of TikTok's lifestyle side with lots of hauls, products, GRWMs, and inspo!

The current content is focused on lifestyle content like food, fashion, interior design, and beauty trends, making its current popular audience Gen-Z females.
