Simple Instagram Story Hacks You Have To Try

Instagram stories have been around for awhile at this point. However, there is still so much to learn, especially as new updates, trends, and hacks are always on the rise. Today we are covering the most simple IG story hacks to help you add some fun improvements to your next story!

Changing the background color:

Changing the background color is so simple! You can use this with sharing a post to story, with a photo, or with a plain background that you just want to update. To do so, select draw, choose a color and press and hold on the screen until it fills the background.

Add a photo background:

Adding a photo to the background can be that extra pop you need to make your story really stand out!

For this one, you can select a post to share to your story, select the sticker button, choose "Photo" and put in the image you want as your background. To adjust, you can click back and forth between the post and the photo to change their layer position.

Customize your text color:

There are all kinds of fun color options, but sometimes they aren't exactly what you're looking for! You can customize to any color of your choice by adding the text you want, going to the color option, and pressing and holding down on one of the color circles. A gradient grid will pop-up and you can add your customized color!

Eraser Effect:

This is such a fun effect to create that "sneak peak" feel! To do this one, you can start by choosing a photo of your choice as the background. Then, you can use the background color hack from above to change the whole background to your color of choice. From here, you select the draw feature, eraser tool, and color over what you want to be revealed.

Shapes and Templates from Canva:

This is one of my favorite hack for a quick and fun flare to your photo. Keep some shapes from Canva handy on a png transparent file and add them into your story using the "photo" tab under the stickers section. In this video we used "organic shapes" but you can add just about anything from Canva in if you can't find an Instagram sticker you like!
